My work involved close collaboration with the Reebok Human Engineering Lab on a new molded outsole design. I created a clay model to experiment with new theories about traction, player safety, mud clearing, flexibility, and stability. The design evolved further as I collaborated with the factory using 3D software, ensuring every design aspect was meticulously crafted. We also explored new graphic iterations for the upper that reflected innovations in the bottom plate.
Dennis Berkamp wore the 6-studded version of this boot when he scored against Argentina in the World Cup. Yes, that goal! Eric Wynalda scored the first goal in MLS history with the 1997 Sidewinder on his feet.
